LAKE CITY, S.C.- A car chase ended Thursday when a stolen van crashed into a light pole in front of Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church on Highway 52.
Captain John Kelly of Lake City Police Department said they were told a van was stolen around 7 a.m. from a convenience store on Highway 52. Florence County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to locate the van thanks to a tracking device the owner had in it and chased the van up the highway.
The car chase ended when the suspect crashed and damaged a light pole near a church. The van was totaled but there were no injuries.
The suspect was in the car alone, and was a juvenile. Charges are still pending.
