It happened at Levelz Nightclub in Myrtle Beach located at 515 9th Avenue North on February 15, 2015.

Police arrested Robbie Lee Bufkin Jr.,33 of Kingstree Friday.

According to an arrest warrant, Bufkin hired Kevin Bryant of Kingstree to kill Saequan Vereen of Myrtle Beach.Police arrested Bryant in February.

The warrant says Bufkin was instrumental in planning the execution style murder.

Security guards shot and wounded Bryant. He went to the hospital for a short period of time.

Bufkin and Bryant are in custody at the J.Reuben Long Detention Center.

Lieutenant Joey Crosby has worked with the Myrtle Beach police department for nearly two decades.

He says he has never seen a case like this in his time with the department.

Lt. Crosby says the situation is unique and continued investigation is needed even weeks after the original arrest.

“Unfortunately the why to answer that question I can’t do that right now because that would be divulging evidence of the case and we’re preparing for the next step which is the prosecution stage of the investigation,” he said.

Lt. Crosby says all options are still being considered.

“When we have investigations such as this we have various resources whether it be the gang unit, the drug unit, or the juvenile unit here in the police department,” he said.

News 13 was able to obtain a list of all calls for police service to club Levelz dating back to June of 2014.

Within the list are five calls for “narcotics”, four calls for a “wanted person”, calls for a “fight”, a shooting and the final call in February 2015 for the homicide investigation.

Lt Crosby says Levelz was deemed a “nuisance” by city standards and the owner voluntarily closed the club’s doors days after the shooting.
