Kiahnna Patterson joined the WBTW News 13 team in June 2016 as a Digital Journalist. She works in Florence, covering the Pee Dee and the boarder belt counties.
Kiahnna comes to us from within the Media General family. She worked alongside the WAVY- TV 10 in Hampton Roads, Virginia as a production operator for the past year. She was also a production and news intern at WAVY. During her time with WAVY, she learned the newsroom from the inside out, while witnessing the legendary number one station cover investigations and breaking news aggressively.
Kiahnna is a 2015 graduate of Old Dominion University. While pursuing her Bachelor of Science, she majored in Communication with an emphasis on broadcast journalism. She started writing during her Senior year of High School for the school yearbook. She immediately fell in love with crafting words and images to tell a story. Throughout her college career at Old Dominion, she fine-tuned her writing skills by reporting via social media, shooting video and editing video for ODU-TV News and the student-run newspaper, the Mace & Crown.
Kiahnna is excited to start her on- air career with WBTW News 13! In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and watching the sunset.
She is always looking for great stories to share! If you have a story idea or would like to just say “Hi”, you can reach Kiahnna by email at Kpatterson@WBTW.com, by phone at (843) 283- 3645, or connect with her online.
