Kelsey Riggs is the Weekend Sports Anchor at WBTW News13. Kelsey began working at News13 in August of 2012 as a digital journalist. During that time she reported during the week, and filled in as a news anchor and on the sports desk.
She is a 2011 graduate of Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Throughout her college career Kelsey played soccer for the Buccaneers. In her off-seasons, she completed internships at two different news stations in Charleston.
She gained valuable reporting and producing experience at her first internship with WCBD Channel 2. Her second internship was in the sports department at WCSC Channel 5, where she learned the ins and outs of sports reporting, shooting games, and putting together a sportscast. After graduation, Kelsey accepted a permanent position as a Production Assistant with WCSC.
Kelsey loves being outdoors and is extremely excited to continue living near the beach. In her free time, she enjoys watching games, playing soccer and spending time with friends and family. She is happy to be part of the News 13 Sports team and looks forward to covering local games and telling unique sports stories.
