CONWAY, SC – The Horry County Museum and The AVX Foundation present a lecture on the American black bear by Kayla Brantley from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Since the 1970s, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources has been keeping data on the black bear population. Kayla Brantley will discuss her ongoing research of black bears, including the use of GPS collars and the continuation of hair DNA analysis in order to learn more about these animals. She will also discuss their various characteristics and behaviors.
The program begins at 1pm on September 24th in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street, Conway SC. This event is free and open to the public.
