A judge denied bond on Friday morning for Garth Treadway, who is facing multiple charges including three counts of felony D.U.I for a crash that killed three people earlier this month on Robert Grissom Parkway. Myrtle Beach police announced Thursday night that
Members of the Axemen motorcycle group attended the hearing for their friends Nicholas Norris, and his girlfriend Kristie Drewes who were two of the three victims killed in the crash.
“He was young, he was 25 years old, Kristie was 24 I mean she left behind a five year old son, so it’s difficult to process the whole situation how everything could have been avoided.” said friend, Steve Von Ruden
Steve Von Ruden said Nick had a military background, and helped the other bikers if they ever needed work done on their back.
“Nick would give you the shirt off his back, anything you needed, he would call and say what do you need me to do?” Von Ruden said.
According to a police report, Garth Treadway was intoxicated and on the run from a different crash on Pine Island road before the one on Grissom Parkway. He also has a history of arrests, including a shootout with a Myrtle Beach police officer back in 2002, and spent a decade in federal prison.
News 13 reached out to loved ones of the third victim with no response.
