Jonee’ Lewis anchors the News13 Saturday and Sunday evening shows. She also reports during the week for News13 at 5 and 6.
Jonee’ joined the WBTW team in May 2013 as a Producer. She produced “Fox Morning News” and appeared on-air for News13 This Morning. After filling in for positions when needed, she became a Digital Journalist in May 2014, and reported for News13 This Morning.
In March of 2015, Jonee’ became the weekend evening anchor.
Jonee’ received a M.A. in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Florida. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from rival Florida State University with her B.S. in Mass Media Studies.
While in college, Jonee’ worked as a producer and reporter for the school’s radio and television stations. She also interned and worked part-time at WCTV (CBS) in Tallahassee and WCJB (ABC) in Gainesville as an Associate Producer, Morning Producer and Video Journalist.
One of the highlights of her career so far was the opportunity to intern with the CBS Evening News in New York. She was able to interact with Scott Pelley, Russ Mitchell and other producers, journalists and reporters on the network level. The internship was a life changing experience and furthered her love for journalism.
Jonee’ has known she would pursue a career in journalism since elementary school when she anchored the school’s morning newscast. The self-proclaimed Southern girl is active in her church, loves to volunteer, cook, watch sports and shop.
