Considered one of the longest drivers on the PGA Tour, it’s not a long shot that Dustin Johnson could come away with this year’s green jacket.
“I feel little bit better coming in here, more confident in my game. I feel like I’m doing the right things with the golf game. I feel like I’m continuing to get a little bit better,” mentioned Johnson.
You could consider The Masters as the Coastal Carolina grad’s next stop on a stretch of comebacks since the beginning of the year.
Last summer he took an unexpected hiatus to seek help for “personal challenges.”
“I feel different, I’m a father now. So you know that’s been the best thing that has happened this year. Couldn’t be in a better place right now in my life,” he added.
However, already in 2015, Johnson is off to rewrite 2014.
He finished fourth at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and tied for second at the Northern Trust Open.
Johnson got his first win by edging out J.B Holmes WGC Cadillac Championship
“I feel like I’m controlling my irons really well. I feel like I’m driving the ball a little bit straighter,” he explained.
Johnson has made the cut at Augusta 5 of the last 6 seasons, with last year being his first year not making it.
This year he hopes to hoist the master’s trophy with green threads to match.
“Who knows what will happen this week. I definitely feel the most confident in my game so far coming into this week than in year’s past,” Johnson said.
If he wins this would be second tournament victory of the year.
