Jazz in the Park had plenty of people up on their feet and dancing to the beat in Myrtle Beach.

The City of Myrtle Beach hosted a free jazz concert at Chapin Park on Sunday, in honor of Jazz Appreciation Month. T

he festival included performances by The Stardusters Big Band, Bull Canty, and the Socastee High School Jazz Band. Jazz lovers also enjoyed food from local vendors, while kids got their faces painted.

“The spirit is just really wonderful a spirit of camaraderie, fellowship, and just appreciation of jazz, and just music in itself. So just bringing everyone together. People from everywhere,” said City Neighborhood Services Director Cookie Goings.

Goings also said the city plans to utilize Chapin Park more in the coming months, and will host more events for the community there.
