‘Jaws of Life’ used to remove victim from 2 vehicle crash in Florence

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – West Florence firefighters had to use the “jaws of life” to get a person out of a vehicle at a crash scene Monday morning.

According to Captain Anthony Fox, the crash happened around 7 a.m. at West Palmetto Street and Twin Church Road. A car and a van collided and left one person trapped inside.  It took rescueworkers around 10 minutes to get the person out, Fox said.

One person was taken to a the hospital for treatment.  The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
