(WTNH)– Author J.K. Rowling is trending on social media after she used “Harry Potter” to call out Donald Trump’s spokeswoman.
While Rowling is a British citizen, she has remained vocal when it comes to making quips about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. On Sunday, Rowling took a dig at his spokeswoman Katrina Pierson by linking to an old tweet of hers and comparing her to a Death Eater.
Death Eaters walk among us. https://t.co/tqKq1anHpf

The link was to this tweet from 2012:
Perfect Obama’s dad born in Africa, Mitt Romney’s dad born in Mexico. Any pure breeds left? #CNNDebate

Harry Potter readers will understand the reference. For non fans– Google describes Death Eaters as “the name given to followers of Lord Voldemort. The group primarily consisted of wizards and witches who were radical pure blood supremacists, who practiced the Dark Arts with reckless abandon and without regard to or fear of wizarding law.”
This isn’t the first time Rowling’s characters were used in regards to Trump.
In December, she tweeted a BBC article which compared the controversial candidate to her famous villain, Lord Voldemort.
How horrible. Voldemort was nowhere near as bad. https://t.co/hFO0XmOpPH
