MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina’s annual Tax Free Weekend begins Friday, offering parents, teachers and anyone else a break on tax fees for certain items.
During the annual Sales Tax Holiday, August 5-7, shoppers will not pay any sales tax on qualifying items. The Tax Free Weekend begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 5, and ends at midnight on Sunday, August 7.
The 6% state sales and use tax, as well as any applicable local sales and use tax, will not be imposed on qualifying items such as clothing, shoes, school supplies, book bags, computers, printers, bedspreads and linens. You won’t even pay the city’s one percent Tourism Development Fee!
