The Internal Revenue Service says 70 percent, or 100 million taxpayers, are eligible to file their taxes for free.
Depending on your income, you are eligible for Free File’s brand-name software and free e-file. Not eligible for the software? There’s still an option: Free File Fillable Forms, the electronic version of paper forms.
Beginning January 15, you can visit IRS.gov, to see if you qualify to file your taxes free of charge.
