MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) — This weekend, many will make their way to Coastal Uncorked in Myrtle Beach. This year, the event has expanded to include a mixology contest Friday night and beer festival Saturday. John Hubbard with Grapevine Distributors was on News 13 Now Friday to give tips about wine tasting and how to expand your palate.
One major benefit is the opportunity to try a wine before you buy it. Hubbard also talked about some tips for the order in which you should taste wines, and he offered some advice for this weekend’s Coastal Uncorked wine tasting.

The festival will feature an assortment of local cuisines, wine, beer and live music. Friday, Sept. 2, features Chocolate Under the Moon, a dessert and moonshine mixology event. Brews ‘N The Beach craft beer festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, and the weekend will culminate with the Grand Wine Tasting Event on Sunday, Sept. 4.Chocolate Under the Moon
- Join the fun on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. for the dessert and moonshine mixology challenge where local bartenders will be competing for the People’s Choice of best moonshine cocktail, while sampling decadent desserts and enjoying live music. Tickets include live music, desserts and moonshine cocktail tastings. Featuring spirits by Sugarlands Distilling Company. The event moved to the ballroom at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel, located at 2101 North Oak Street in Myrtle Beach.
- Back for a third year is the Brews ‘N the Beach Craft Beer Event, which will be held on Saturday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy samples of rare, specialty one-off and craft beers from all over the country, live music and a souvenir beer tasting glass. Event ticket includes beer samples, souvenir beer tasting glass and lives music. The event is under the large tent in the parking lot behind Pavilion Park Central, near the Welcome Center on the 21st Avenue side of Broadway at the Beach.
- The festival closes out the weekend on Sunday with the popular Grand Wine Tasting Event from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Your ticket includes sampling of a variety of wines from all over the country, one Boar’s Head Brand deli plate, live music and a Coastal Uncorked souvenir wine glass. The event is under the large tent in the parking lot behind Pavilion Park Central, near the Welcome Center on the 21st Avenue side of Broadway at the Beach.
Individual event tickets range from $20 to $25 for advance purchase and increase the day-of events. A three-day weekend pass is $65. Tickets are now available and can be purchased online. Non-drinking tickets are available for $10 and include admittance to the event, food samplings where applicable, live music and complimentary water. All tickets purchased online will have an additional processing fee. Advance ticket discounts are not available by phone or walk up purchase.
