BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Authorities in Marlboro County are investigating the death of a two week old child who died in the city of Bennettsville on Saturday.
According to Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown, the infant, Charles Hopkins, was pronounced dead at 9:41am at Mcleod Health Cheraw.
Thom Berry with SLED said the Child Fatality Unit is assisting Bennettsville Police in the investigation.
Brown said any child fatality in the state is investigated.
An autopsy is expected on Sunday or Monday.
