NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Police have made an arrest for a burglary that happened on Jan.14 on 39th Avenue South. 

North Myrtle Beach police say they reported to an active burglary around 5 a.m. on Jan. 14 at 1014 39th Avenue South.  

The homeowner was in the residence with his girlfriend and infant son during the burglary. 

Police say the homeowner shot at the two suspects. The suspects shot back, then dropped a gun and ran off.

When police arrived, they found the gun the suspects dropped near the door and multiple empty shell casings laying on the floor in the living room of the house, according to the police report. There were several bullet holes that police say came from the suspect’s gun toward the back of the house.

Booking records confirm Miracle Shantrell Cybil Evans, 25, of Little River, was arrested on Monday at 4:06 p.m. She is being charged with burglary first degree and attempted murder. Records reflect no bail has been set. 

The homeowner, his girlfriend and child were checked for injuries, according to police. There have been no reports of anyone being hurt. 

Police have not arrested the second suspect.
