FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Flyball Dog Tournament in Florence gathered 25 of the fastest dog teams raced to take home a Palmetto Pack Ribbon and bragging rights. Each team has 6 dogs, 4 race and 2 are alternates. The object of the race is for the dogs to jump over 4 hurdles, hit the box at the end of the lane. Then grab the tennis ball and bring it across the starting line before there other team member can cross start line. Whoever does this the fastest wins the race. News13 spoke with one woman that has compete in the tournament for about 20 years. She says she keeps coming back because it’s a fun time with her dogs and friends.”
Tammy Bonas, Blockage Runners Team from Raleigh North Carolina said, “Everybody knows everybody. We have fun. Of course we’re competitive but at the same time we laugh and joke. It’s a good time.”
The Palmetto Pack that is based in Florence is always open to having more team members. Each team needs 6 dogs, The Palmetto Pack will teach you have to train your dogs to make a team or join their team. The next tournament is February 11th and 12th.
