DILLON, SC (WBTW) -Major Hulon has defeated Crystal Moore to win the race for Dillon County Sheriff.

Democrat Major Hulon is the current Dillon County Sheriff.

The final tally showed that Crystal Moore received 3,693 votes while Major Hulon received 7,391.

“We had some folks who didn’t vote for me and a lot who did, but I’m here to serve everybody,” said Hulon. “It’s time for everyone to come together, let’s work hard the next four years to make Dillon County the best it’s ever been.”

Moore kept her head held high following the defeat.

“It’s time for a change; if the people wanted a change they would have came out here and voted,” said Moore. “God’s will be done, I’ve prayed about it and I’m fine with the votes.”

Crystal Moore was the Latta Police Chief before she was terminated in September after a unanimous vote of the town council. According to documents, Moore was suspended for five days in August for failing to inform supervisors of a sexual harassment claim, revealing an officer’s salary at a public meeting and failing to file vehicle reports.
