MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) Crews will finish installing cameras Tuesday at Savannah’s Playground in Myrtle Beach.

The five cameras at the playground near Market Common were donated by HTC after vandals spray painted obscenities on some of the equipment this summer.

The cameras cost a couple thousand dollars and will be monitored by Myrtle Beach Police.

HTC says they wanted to donate the cameras because of their special relationship with Savannah’s family.  She was an HTC Reel kid scholarship winner for being a student that succeeds despite obstacles.

The official grand opening is scheduled for Saturday September 3rd.

According to their website, Savannah’s Playground is an enabling playground with ADA-approved playground equipment and structures  designed to provide children of all abilities the opportunity for social interaction.
