CBS NEWS – New evidence suggests the Zika virus can cross through a pregnant woman’s placenta and potentially infect the fetus. Research in “The Lancet Infectious Diseases” detected the virus in the amniotic fluid of two women whose babies developed the birth defect microcephaly. Babies are likely to be miserable when their teeth are coming in, but it shouldn’t actually make them sick. A study in Pediatrics finds that along with irritability, a slight rise in body temperature is a common symptom while teething.
