A new study finds radiation after surgery improves survival for women with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ. Researchers in Boston looked at thousands of women who had the non-invasive form of breast cancer. They found women who had a higher chance of recurrence, based on their age and tumor size, lowered their risk of dying by nearly 70 percent if they had radiation in addition to surgery. Women with a low chance of recurrence did not see a benefit to radiation. SOURCE – Journal of Clinical Oncology/MedDay/CBS
