DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – Firefighters responded to a house fire Sunday morning around 5:30 a.m. that left one person dead, according to Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee.
Hardee said the fire happened at a home on First Street in the city of Darlington. Hardee identifies the victim as 30-year-old Dozier Cannon, of Darlington.
Monday’s autopsy revealed Cannon’s cause of death was smoke inhalation, and his death has been ruled an accident, Hardee confirms.
The incident is under investigation by SLED, Darlington County Coroner’s Office, Darlington Police Department and the Darlington Fire Department.
