CONWAY, S.C. (AP) – A survey has led to a Conway college installing hand sanitizer stations around campus.
The Sun News reports free-standing hand sanitizer stations are being installed at the building entrances at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. A group of student researchers say they surveyed 397 students and 115 employees and most of them admitted to not washing their hands as often as they should.
Sociology professor Leila Rogers says people are more than likely to wipe down shopping carts at Wal-Mart and their gym equipment than they are to wash their hands at school.
Rogers says the survey showed more than 90 percent of students and employees would use the sanitizers if they were available in common areas.
