SOCASTEE, SC (WBTW) – Early morning voting machine problems at an Horry County precinct caused major wait times for voters.
Several voting machines at Socastee High School went down early Tuesday morning as lines stretched out the door into the parking lot.
Horry County Elections Director Sandy Martin told News13 that a “power issue” at the school is the problem and election workers arrived to help fix it.
Some people were at this precinct at 7 a.m. and as of 10 a.m., still had not cast their vote.
According to SC elections officials in Columbia, turnout across the Palmetto State has been heavy so far with very few issues at the polls.
