CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – People who live in Horry County and have damages to their homes from Hurricane Matthew can now apply for aid from FEMA.
Wednesday afternoon, FEMA approved four additional counties for individual assistance.
Clarendon, Calhoun, Horry, and Marlboro were added to the list to receive financial assistance.
That assistance can include money for temporary rental assistance and essential home repairs for primary homes, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs.

County Spokesperson Lisa Bourcier says she does not know if this recent storm will have an impact on the county’s flood maps that were changed after last year’s flood in October because they’re still waiting to hear from FEMA.
“We still haven’t had any determination letter from FEMA regarding the preliminary flood maps or even our appeals that we filed regarding that. So, we’re still kind of waiting to see when that will take place,” said Bourcier.
News13 reached out to officials with FEMA for an update on where those maps stand, but at the time of this article, we hadn’t heard back.
