MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Horry County has suspended emergency operations due to the storm.
County officials say they are no longer sending emergency vehicles, or first responders out on the roads because it is too dangerous.
A press release from Lisa Bourcier with Horry County Government, more than 96 roads have been closed, and about 50,000 people are without power in Horry County.
As of 3 p.m., 938 people were in shelter and over 3,500 callers have been assisted through the Horry County Emergency Operations Center phone bank.
Officials continue to remind people to stay off the roads, to never drive around barricades, and to never drive through standing water.
