CONWAY, SC – The Horry County Board of Education appointed principals for three schools scheduled to open for the 2017-2018 school year. The appointments result in the transfers of two elementary principals and the promotion of an assistant principal, all presently employed with Horry County Schools.
David Cupolo, principal at Forestbrook Elementary School, will become the principal of the new intermediate school in the St. James attendance area. Ben Prince, principal at Ocean Bay Elementary School, will become the principal at the new middle school in the Carolina Forest attendance area. Lisa Melchione, assistant principal at Socastee Elementary School, will be the principal of the new middle school in the Socastee attendance area.
Cupolo, Prince and Melchione will transition into the newly-appointed positions on July 1 and will work toward the opening of three new additional schools that are under construction. The schools will open for the 2017-2018 school year.
