The Horry County Police Department and local law enforcement agencies are joining forces with Broadway Grand Prix in Myrtle Beach for its 2nd Annual Drive N Live Teen Safe Driving Program.
The event is designed for teen’s ages 14 years old and older throughout Horry County to attend a free event in a safe and fun environment, while learning about the dangers of texting while driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The students in the program will have the opportunity to drive go-karts on the track at Broadway Grand Prix while wearing goggles that blur vision simulating the effects of drinking. Students will drive a course while attempting to type and send a text message, and attend a presentation with firsthand accounts from officers who have worked wrecks of teen drivers who were texting while driving or were driving while impaired.
