MURRELLS INLET (WBTW) – The man accused of robbing two Horry County banks in one week is behind bars Thursday morning.

A press release from Horry County police spokesperson Krystal Dotson says officers were investigating a call about a suspicious car on Highway 90 when they confirmed the vehicle was the stolen truck associated with alleged bank robber, Brian Wilson Humphreys Jr.. Dotson says officers located the suspect in a nearby tent and Humphreys surrendered without incident.

Horry County Police responded to TD Bank in Murrells Inlet Saturday, and detectives believe the robber committed another bank robbery earlier that same week.

In an emailed statement, Lt. Raul Denis with Horry County Police said detectives believe Brian Wilson Humphreys Jr. robbed the TD Bank, located at 3205 S. Highway 17, Murrells Inlet, at 12:21 p.m. Saturday.

“Humphreys handed the teller a note that said it was a robbery and that he was armed, and made off with cash,” the statement read.
