Horry County police were involved in a chase on Thursday after a suspect reportedly tried to avoid a traffic stop.

The chase happened around 4:40 p.m. in the area of Hwy 90 and East Cox Ferry Road, according to Mikayla Moskov, with Horry County. The suspect was allegedly speeding when an HCPD officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

The suspect reportedly tried to avoid the stop, resulting in the chase, Moskov also said. The suspect then crashed his car shortly after into two vehicles and reportedly ran away on foot.

Officers chased the suspect, who was later arrested.

No injuries have been reported and the suspect is expected to face several charges.
