CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County police say the man who robbed a Conway bank Thursday morning was taken into custody 45 minutes after the robbery.
On Friday, Horry County Police Department spokesperson Krystal Dotson identified the suspect as 53-year-old Darin A. Bumbaco of Conway.
Booking records show the suspect was charged with armed robbery, entering bank, depository or building and loan association with intent to steal and failure to appear.
The report from Horry County police says the man arrived at the bank before it opened and waited by the door. When the bank opened, police say Bumbaco presented the bank teller with a note demanding money and after being given the cash from the teller’s drawer, he ran towards Holt Road.
Photos were released of the suspect, and officers described the robber as a white man with tattoos on both sides of his neck and his hands.
Within an hour of the Conway National Bank, located at 1360 Hwy 501 in Conway, being robbed, officers found the man who committed the robbery, according to the department’s Twitter account.
The robbery occurred shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, and the report says the suspect was arrested at 9:45 a.m.
