Horry County police have made an arrest in a shooting that happened Monday on Bombing Range Road.
According to the Horry County Police Department, Javon Jenkins was arrested in connection to the shooting. Jenkins is 17-years-old, from Longs and is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a pistol.
According to a police report, the victim was trying to buy marijuana on Bombing Range Road when Jenkins allegedly put a gun to his head. The victim started driving with the suspect hanging onto the driver’s side door.
The suspect fired his gun and shot the victim in the leg. The victim was able to drive to a local hospital where police officers were notified.
At last check, Jenkins remains in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
