FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – A man pleaded guilty to drug charges on Friday in Florence.
Artemio Bustos Solano, 40, of Horry County, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine. Solano’s maximum prison sentence is 20 years with a fine of $1,000,000, according to United States Attorney Beth Drake.
A confidential informant arranged a deal to buy cocaine from Solano and Solano’s partner on April 8, 2011, in the parking lot of a grocery store on Highway 701N in Conway.
Drake did not comment on the name or address of the grocery store.
When the confidential informant arrived at the grocery store to buy cocaine, he showed Solano’s partner the “buy money,” then Solano’s partner went to get the cocaine from Solano’s house, according to Drake.
When Solano’s partner came back to the grocery store, agents arrested him and took the two kilograms of cocaine he was planning to sell the confidential informant.
Drake did not comment on the name or description of Solano’s partner.

Agents were not able to arrest Solano at the scene. Solano was arrested in Sep. 2017. He will be sentenced in the near future.
