United States Attorney Sherri A. Lydon announced Wednesday that a federal grand jury in Florence returned an indictment against Tony Dewayne Rollins.
According to a press release from Lydon’s office, Rollins is from Horry County. He was charged in a single-count indictment with illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony.
The case could now go to trial. The maximum penalty Rollins could receive if convicted is ten years in federal prison.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) investigated the case. It is assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin W. Holloway of the Florence Office for prosecution.
On Monday, Lydon’s office also announced two other indictments: (1.) one for a Florence woman accused of embezzling from the Social Security administration, and (2.) one for two men charged in a single-count indictment with illegal entry in the U.S. after deportation.
