An Horry County man was arrested and charged in connection to the sexual assault of a young woman.
61-year-old William Howard Funderburke was arrested and charged with criminal solicitation of a minor, criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and third degree criminal sexual conduct on Monday, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records. No bail has been set and Funderburke remains in the detention center.
A report from the Horry County Police Department says police were called in reference to a sexual assault on February 5, 2017. The victim told police Funderburke started molesting her when she was 13 and this, and other sexual advances, continued over a period of several years.
No other information about Funderburke has been released.
