CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – After 30 years of working for Horry County, Randy Webster has accepted a new position at Conway Medical Center.

Webster will be the new emergency preparedness and environmental compliance director. He will help coordinate evacuations and transportation for hurricanes, among many other responsibilities. 

Webster, who is Horry County’s emergency management director,  confirmed his upcoming retirement to News13 on Monday evening. Webster says his last day with Horry County will be July 31.

Webster, along with his team, were awarded “Agency of the Year” by the South Carolina Emergency Management Association in 2019.  Webster, individually, was named “Director of the Year” during the South Carolina Emergency Management Association workshop in 2016.

Webster began his career with Horry County in 1989, shortly before Hurricane Hugo impacted the East Coast. His public safety experience spans across emergency management, EMS and the fire service. Webster was named the emergency management director of Horry County in 2003.
