CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina’s Attorney General says a proposal by Horry County council member Tyler Servant may violate the state constitution.
Servant wants county workers and supervisors to submit money-saving ideas to council. If an idea leads to savings, the worker would get a one-time bonus of 25 percent of those savings which could be up to $50,000. A supervisor would get a one-time bonus of 10 percent of the savings, up to $25,000.
However, the attorney general’s office says parts of the plan violate state law against “extra allowances”, and could be open to a legal challenge.
