CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – A man has died as the result of a fall at 5780 Highway 378 near Conway on Tuesday.
According to Horry County Fire and Rescue’s Tony Casey, the man fell at least 10 feet.
Casey said HCFR EMS responded to a “fall” call at that location around 10:50 a.m. At the time, Casey told News13 that one person had very serious injuries.
Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard identified the man is Marcial Diaz Capetillo, who was 38-years-old from Conway. According to Willard, Capetillo was removing tree limbs when he was thrown from the ladder he was on by a branch collapsed onto the ladder. He was not affiliated with any tree removal service and was not using the proper harness.
