Horry County Animal Care Center plans to open low cost spay/neuter clinic

CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – The Horry County Animal Care Center plans to open a low- cost spay and neuter clinic on Tuesday, August 9, to county residents.

The costs for cats is $50 and $80 for dogs. People that meet the federal low- income guidelines on government assistance may be able to receive even lower costs.  The special pricing for government assistance residents is $20 for cats and $40 for dogs.

The benefits of spaying and neutering pets range from reducing the number of unwanted animals in local shelters to preventing health problems and decreasing the chances of a pet running away.

Pet owners will be able to schedule an appointment for surgery, Monday through Friday, from 1 p.m.  to 4:30 p.m. in person at the Horry County Animal Care Center on Industrial Park Road in Conway or by calling the office at (843) 915-5172.
