LONGS, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Longs on Wednesday night.
According to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, says Joel Deaton, 53, of Longs died as a result of traumatic injuries from the crash on Tallwood Rd around 10:25 p.m.
Willard said a car rear-ended a moped and the moped’s driver died at the scene.
Corporal Sonny Collins said the car’s driver–21-year-old Stephen Isdell–was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
