FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – HOPE HEALTH in Downtown Florence held its 19th Annual Aids Walk Saturday afternoon.

Hundreds of different businesses and organizations attended the event.

Hope Health Community Relations Director, Tiffany Straus says they hope to spread awareness about the high rate of infections in the Southern part of the Country.

One local sorority brought more than 50 middle schools to the walk. Sorority organizers say they are impressed that the students spend their Saturday participating in a worthy cause.

Kim Gordon, Youth Initiative Chairwoman for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority said, “We just want them to know that there are choices. That there are right choices and consequences for your actions. But even with that, there is always recovery.”
