CONWAY (WBTW) – Coastal Carolina tied a school record with six home runs in one game to defeat Stetson 17-5 on Friday night at Springs Brooks Stadium.

Tyler Chadwick and Michael Paez each had two home runs on the day. Chadwick was 2-for-3 and finished with six RBI. Paez was 3-for-4 with four RBI and became the first Chanticleer to hit two home runs in one inning.

Three of CCU’s six home runs came in an eight-run fourth inning thanks to a grand slam by Chadwick and Paez’s solo shot and three-run homer.

G.K. Young also hit a homer and finished the day 3-for-5 with three RBI. Billy Cooke hit his first career home run.

Jack Machonis hit a home run for Stetson in the first inning to give the Hatters a 1-0 lead. Vance Vizcaino hit a solo home run in the fifth to make the score 15-3 but the Hatters offense was not enough to match Coastal’s power.

Alex Cunningham got the win for Coastal. It was his fourth straight victory and the fourth in Coastal’s last nine wins.
