Home Depot employee threatened with knife by shoplifter, report says

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach Home Depot employee was threatened with a knife trying to stop a man stealing from the store.

According a Myrtle Beach police report, the incident happened at the Oak Forest Lane location around 9:45 a.m. Thursday.  The store’s Loss Prevention employee attempted to stop the man leaving with several tools at the lumber entrance.

The report stated the man then pulled a knife on the store worker and said “If you don’t let me go, I’ll f****** cut you!

The employee then let the man go and watch him leave in an older model Ford Ranger pick-up truck with NC tag PCB 8052.

The employee was able to recover more than $475 worth of merchandise stolen from the store, the report said.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans and a dark colored hat.
