People from across Horry County gathered in Galivants Ferry on Saturday for a historic political tradition.

They attended the 142nd Galivants Ferry Stump at the General Store on Highway 501. Organizers invited various Democratic candidates to the event, including gubernatorial and congressional candidates, as well as those running for local and state offices.

The Galivants Ferry Stump also included free food, live music, and activities for children.

“It’s so important in this day and age for voters to see candidates up front and personal. Most voters don’t get many opportunities to speak one on one, and look them in the eye, and talk to them,” said director Sally Howard.
