CONWAY (AP) – Haiishen McIntyre made two free throws with 57 seconds left to provide just enough cushion for High Point to slip past Coastal Carolina 68-67 on Thursday night.

Coastal Carolina’s Shivaughn Wiggins nailed a 3-pointer to close to 68-67 with 43 seconds left.

Adam Weary missed a layup on the other end. The Chanticleers’ Tristian Curtis grabbed the rebound and Elijah Wilson drove for a layup with two seconds left but John Brown was there to block the shot and preserve the win.

High Point (15-9, 8-5 Big South) held a 39-29 halftime advantage and was up 62-53 with 6:00 left. The Chanticleers closed to 62-60 with 4:30 remaining and tied the game at 64 when Wiggins made a layup with 1:40 left.

Brown had 13 points, nine rebounds and two blocks for High Point. Weary also had 13 points and Andre Fox added 12.

Wiggins led Coastal Carolina (15-9, 9-5) with 18.
