HGTC looks to purchase building for new plumbing program

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Horry-Georgetown Technical College looks to purchase a building in Conway to help support its new plumbing service technologies program.

HGTC spokeswoman Mary Eaddy says the 7,5000 square foot building of interest to the school is located on Daytona Street. She told News13 on Wednesday it would also support electrical trade programs and possibly construction trade programs.

“It will [also] be flex space for HGTC to use for quick programs requested by private employers,” she added.

Eaddy says HGTC is currently waiting on the results of an appraisal, but expects the purchase price to be around $350,000.

School officials hope to move through the buying process quickly so it can begin using the building for its plumbing certificate program in September.
