Hemingway woman takes home $250,000 scratch-off

HEMINGWAY, SC (WBTW) – A woman in Hemingway took home one $250,000 lottery jackpot Monday.

The release from lottery officials says she rarely plays the lottery, but decided to take a chance on a $10 Cash Reserve scratch-off at Betty’s Quick Stop on North Main Street. Betty’s receives a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed lottery ticket.

“Life goes on,” the winner said. “I’m usually not that lucky.”

The release says she had just gotten off work when she bought the scratch-off and says she’ll be back at work tomorrow.

As of this release, three top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Cash Reserve game.  The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 696,000.
