GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – Willimsburg County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Hemingway man Friday in a burglary incident that happened Sept. 7 on Black Berry Road in Johnsonville.

According to the press release from investigator Alex Edwards, 29-year-old Inife Q. Cohen was arrested and charged with one count of burglary second degree and petit larceny.

Cohen turned himself in to authorities at the SC Probation Parole and Pardon Services in Georgetown to days after the burglary.

Cohen was captured on video surveillance in the area during the time of the burglary. Booking reports say he stole a television and about 30 DVDs from the home in Johnsonville. The reports also say Cohen has two or more property crime convictions on his criminal record.

Investigators say they developed a lead in the case after someone called in a tip to the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect appeared before a Williamsburg County Magistrate and bond was set at $10,000. He is currently being held at the Williamsburg County Detention Center.

Cohen also faces pending burglary charges with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
