Hemingway man charged with murder in Williamsburg County shooting

HEMINGWAY, SC (WBTW) – Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the shooting that killed a 30-year-old man Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday morning on Thrasher Drive in Hemingway, according to Investigator Alex Edwards with the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight identifies the victim as 30 year-old Terrence Mention, of Hemingway.

According to Edwards, deputies arrested Ramin Ramel Castellanons, 22, of Hemingway, and charged him with murder in connection to Mention’s death. Castellanons and Mention were arguing inside the home on Thrasher Drive, when the dispute turned physical, resulting in Castellanons shooting and killing the victim, Edwards confirms.

Edwards adds the investigation into this incident is ongoing. McKnight says an autopsy will be performed at MUSC in Charleston.
