AUSTIN (MEDIA GENERAL/AP) – A large weather system continues to dump heavy rain on Texas on Monday, causing flooding in several areas and shutting down schools and public transit.
Houston has been hit the hardest, with parts of the metro area measuring up to 16 inches of rain in the past 24 hours as of Monday morning.
Flash flood watches have been issued through Tuesday morning for several of Texas’ largest cities, including Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Fort Worth.— The Associated Press contributed to this report.
